Yoga is a deliverance from contact with pain and sorrow.

What is Yoga Therapy and how is it different than a yoga class?

Yoga Therapy applies yogic tools based on an individual’s psychological, physiological and emotional needs.

Yoga classes are for groups of individuals or for specific groups of people such as pregnant women.

Yoga Therapy is a 1:1 session focused on YOUR needs and customized for where you are in YOUR process and what you want to accomplish.

What can I expect during my sessions?

The intention for each yoga therapy session is to accommodate the individual’s needs, symptoms and conditions. After a consultation and assessment, we may focus on developing your personalized program – a tool or tools for your ongoing practice and self-development.

During our sessions, there are a variety of tools available for us such as:

Meditation

Postures (Asana)

Exercises

Breath and Sound

Movement explorations

Energetic or Spiritual Counseling

Imagery

Prayer

Textual study

Our sessions will run for approximately 75-minutes. You may extend your time for a nominal, additional fee.

Do my religious beliefs inhibit me from having yoga therapy?

*Yoga therapy respects individual differences in age, culture, religion, philosophy, occupation, and mental and physical health.*

During our therapeutic sessions, I will:

  • Respect our differences

  • Be considerate for your cultural and religious or spiritual background

  • Give instruction based on your physical, emotional and mental capability

  • Take into account the time of the year (seasonal changes and its impact)

  • Have mindfulness towards your capacity in regards to your endurance, memory, comfort, or time available

What effects can I expect?

Increase in strength

More compassion

Greater self control

Calmness

Well-being

Less anxiety and depression

Self empowerment

Self awareness

Greater flexibility

Improved sleeping

and more!
